So, it's been a while since I've given you all an update on what's going on behind the scenes:
As you may know, 'Ipseity' will start back with the final block of shooting in MAY! This is giving us some time to prep for the final shoots, cast some of the small remaining roles, as well as giving the cast and crew some time off!
A special congratulations to our Director of Photography, Paul Frateschi, who got married last week! (Another reason we are not shooting in April!)
Meanwhile, I have been making preparations my film team on 'The Strong One' for the screening in LA this summer at the CMF Grand Finale, June 21st-23rd. We'll keep you posted with our updates and more info!
In addition to this, we've begun the first steps of Post-production on 'Ipseity', organizing and syncing sound for all the scenes we've shot so far. For those who don't know what 'syncing sound' is, when we shoot, we record sound and video separately- This means that for each shot, you have one video clip, and one audio clip, and they have to be matched up and synced in order for editing to begin.
Slates, (or clappers) like the one below used in 'The Shining' are used to make the syncing process easier.
Stay tuned for some more updates- Shooting on 'IPSEITY' starts back on Wednesday, May 9th!

Ipseity
The past couple weeks have been busy preparing for the teaser trailer release, as well as the name change from 'Unforgotten' to 'Ipseity'!
So what exactly does Ipseity mean, and why did we decide to change the name?
Ipseity is defined as personal identity, selfhood, or individuality. I'm excited for the name change, mainly because it is a unique way to set our film apart, other than the visuals, storytelling, cast and crew.
So how do you pronounce it?
I thought that link was pretty cool.
This week has also involved the last casting call and securing locations for our last 6 days of shooting, which will take place in May.
Stay tuned for more information about our final days of shooting!

Some film directing updates...
Some great stuff has happened in the last week!
My film "The Strong One" was one of 30 films to be selected from Campus Moviefest to be screened at Cannes Film Festival! I feel extremely blessed and humbled to be a 21 year old film director and have my film screened at Cannes- That is an opportunity of a life-time.
Secondly, the teaser trailer for my full length film, currently known as Unforgotten, will be released on Sunday. You will not want to miss this!

You keep going...
Filmmaking: Your lose sleep thinking about it, you sacrifice
other things to work on it- When you’re not working on it, you think about it
all the time. After you finish working on it, you think about all the shots you weren't able to get.
But you keep going.
It’s not just because you love it, not just because it’s yours,
not just because you want to share it with others- but because you know that
stories are the way that we understand truth, and that makes it worth
everything that you put into it.

More stills from recent shoots...
And once again, here are some more stills from recent shoots-
This scene was shot at Nash Square in downtown Raleigh, NC. This scene involved Charles Allen (playing Ian Tesh), Katherine Drew (playing Jennifer Tesh), Abigail Cornell (playing Audrey Tesh), and Brandon Oakley (playing the Suspicious man).
Even though there was little action, and this wasn't an intense scene, it was exciting to show the Tesh family in this context and environment- An important scene for the film!
One of the props for this day included an ice cream cone for Audrey Tesh (played by Abigail Cornell). As you may know, an ice cream cone will only last for a short amount of time (often times shorter than a film shoot will last). Because of this, Abigail ended up eating more than a couple ice cream cones for this scene. (Special Thanks to Tammy Cornell for allowing such consumption of this amount of ice cream!)
Enjoy the pictures, and stay tuned for more soon!

Stills from the opening scene!
As promised, here are more stills from the past couple weeks of shooting- These particular stills are from the opening scene of the film, which was shot on March 18th. This shoot went late into the night (close to 3 am), but we got to see some awesome performances by Mike Gutowski (playing the hitman), Katherine Drew (playing Jennifer Tesh), Charles Allen (playing Ian Tesh), and of course, the wonderful Abigail Cornell (playing Audrey Tesh).
Thanks to Raleigh PD for keeping us safe during the scene downtown!
Enjoy these pictures, and stay tuned for more soon!
